History of Mobile Legends

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, often shortened to just Mobile Legends or ML, is a free-to-play MOBA game that offers competitive and fast-paced gameplay. Matches are played 5v5, with each player taking control of a Hero. Heroes have unique abilities and level up by eliminating opponents and computer-controlled enemy minions.

The objective in MLBB is to destroy the enemy base, which is guarded by powerful turrets. The game is played on a standard map divided into lanes. Between each lane is the jungle, which contains neutral creeps that can be destroyed for experience, gold and team buffs.

Moonton first released Mobile Legends in 2016. However, later it was released as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in 2017. The first official ML tournament was the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) in 2017. A year later. Moonton established the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League, a series of official regional tournaments. In 2019, they held the first World Championship. Dubbed M1, it featured 16 teams and a $250,000 prize pool.

Mobile Legends: Professional league

The Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) is an international ML competition consisting of regional leagues worldwide. Currently, it features professional leagues in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, the Americas, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Middle East and North Africa.

Each year, regional MPL leagues have 2 seasons, or splits, each offering teams a chance to qualify for one of the major Mobile Legends championships.

Each MPL's format depends on the region, but most leagues feature 8 to 10 teams. The regular season typically uses a double round-robin format, before the playoffs determine the champions.

MSC

The MLBB Mid Season Cup, abbreviated to MSC, is an annual international MLBB tournament. Although it originally began as an event only available to Southeast Asian teams, it’s now open to the best teams worldwide.

Teams qualify for the MSC either by winning or finishing as runners-up of the first split or season of their regional MPL. However, the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia are the only regions with 2 qualification spots.

The MSC is hosted during the Esports World Cup and most recently featured 25 teams and a prize pool worth $3 million. The 2026 MSC was split into Wildcard, Group and Knockout stages.

M World Championship

The M World Championship is an annual Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament featuring the best teams from around the world.

Teams qualify for the M World Championship by finishing as champions or runners-up of their regional MPL. However, only teams from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia have 2 qualification spots.

This tournament is the most prestigious event in Mobile Legends, and the winners are crowned the world champions. The most recent edition featured 22 teams and a $1 million prize pool.

The M8 World Championship takes place in January 2027. Thailand will host the wildcard stage, and the main tournament will then get underway in Istanbul. It will feature 23 teams competing for a share of the $1 million prize pool over 4 stages: the Wildcard stage, Swiss stage, Knockout stage, and Grand Finals.

Total maps

You can also bet on the total number of maps. Pick the over or under line depending on how many maps it will take to decide the match. For example, if you think both teams will win a map, you’ll want to take the over line.

Prop bets

You can place a variety of prop bets on MLBB matches. For example, First Blood lets you bet on which team will get the first kill of the match. There’s also first to x kills, where you predict the first team or player to reach a set number of kills.
